We know that venues like ours can sometimes be overwhelming, so on Relaxed Mornings our experience looks a little different.

These mornings have been specifically designed for visitors who may need a little extra support to enjoy our venue. This may be due to disability or neurodiversity, such as autism or other sensory processing conditions.  

Upcoming Relaxed Mornings 
 

The session runs from 10.00am -12.00pm, with the building gradually getting busier from 12.30 onwards. 

Your ticket is valid for the whole day and you can come and go as you wish, just keep hold of your ticket to show our team when you re-enter.

_Visitor numbers are restricted during these events, to ensure there is plenty of space to play.

_The sounds of some of our noisier exhibits are lowered.

_Our Live Science team are on hand to offer a warm welcome and support you during your visit. 

_Planetarium is free and drop-in, rather than ticketed – meaning you can stay for as long (or as little) as you want.

/ We have a designated Quiet Room on Level 1. This is a room with low level lighting, weighted blankets and reduced noise and stimulation.

 

/ Ear defenders are available to borrow from the Welcome Desk in the foyer (subject to availability).

Personal assistants and carers

If somebody in your party requires a personal assistant or if you are entering as a foster parent, then you can book a free personal assistant ticket for admission and for the Planetarium. 

The best way to do this is by contacting our bookings team in advance so we can guarantee availability, but you can also chat to the team on the front desk on arrival. These tickets are not available online. For more information please visit ticket information.
