Visiting with kids?

We aim to be as family-friendly as possible and so have baby-changing facilities, buggy parks and picnic spaces - leaving you free to have a good time!

Welcome desk

You'll find the welcome desk in the foyer on the ground floor. You can stop by on your way in or at any point during your visit and staff here can help with any questions.

We have 10 sensory bags available, which are free to use and available on a first come first served basis.

Each bag contains noise cancelling headphones, fidget toys, communication aids and are suitable for both children and adults.

Facilities

If you don't want to carry bags and coats with you, we have some lockers available to use free of charge, subject to availability. You'll need a £1 coin, which will be returned to you at the end.

We have a wonderful café on site, but you can also bring your own food into the venue to eat in our picnic area, or eat outside on Millennium or Anchor Square.

Seats and benches are available around the venue to take a rest.

Exhibits

All of our exhibits are interactive, so you can enjoy them through play and using your senses. We’ve designed them with high colour contrast, large font size and English subtitles. The exhibits are low down so that everyone can reach them.

Quiet Room

A peaceful sanctuary to take a break, calm and relax. There is hardly any sound and low level lighting and weighted blankets are available.

Multi Faith Room

A prayer, contemplation and reflection space for people of faith and no faith. Please speak to a member of staff if you need a hand locating this.

Visiting with little ones?

We are breast-feeding friendly throughout including in our Quiet Room (other private space available upon request).

We also have designated places to leave your pram or buggy.
