We The Curious temporarily closed due to Coronavirus

Wednesday 18 March | Jen Forster

We’ve been listening to the latest guidance from the UK government for the public to limit contact with other people in social spaces in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, so we’ve taken the decision to temporarily close our venue to visitors.

This hasn’t been an easy decision to make but we’ll be following the scientific advice and playing our part in slowing the spread of COVID-19 in order to keep people safe and ease the pressure on our health services.

Our closure is a preventative measure only; we're not aware of any specific risk to our visitors or staff in relation to the pandemic.

We passionately believe in the importance of curiosity, science and collaboration within society, and those are values we’re keen to promote during this challenging time for us all. So even though our building will be temporarily closed for a while, we’ll be looking into programmes and activities which can still be enjoyed remotely during this unprecedented time, more information on that to follow – do check out our website and social media channels.

Chief Executive Donna Speed said: “We have a responsibility to our staff, volunteers, visitors and wider community to look after their health and safety. And as a charity, we need to make sure that we can continue our mission when this public health crisis all passes; curiosity is a great tool to help address educational inequality, so we need to ensure that we’re still here and in the best position for our audiences when the time is right. This is an unprecedented time for us all, so we’d just like to say a big thank you to everyone for their support.”
