Relaxed Mornings
We know that venues like ours can sometimes be overwhelming.
Our Relaxed Mornings are for visitors who would benefit from a calmer, less busy environment – along with their families, carers and friends.
Our next session is on Sunday 2 February.
The session runs from 10.00am -12.00pm, with the building gradually getting busier from 12.30 onwards.
Your ticket is valid for the whole day and you can come and go as you wish, just keep hold of your ticket to show our team when you re-enter.
What's different?
Our experience looks a little different on these dates and times and has been specifically designed for visitors who need a little extra support to enjoy our venue. This may be due to disability or neurodiversity, such as autism or other sensory processing conditions.
Visitor numbers are restricted during these events, to ensure there is plenty of space to play.
We lower the sounds of some of our noisier exhibits and our Live Science team are on hand to offer a warm welcome.
During a Relaxed Morning session, our Planetarium is free and drop-in, rather than ticketed– meaning you can stay for as long (or as little) as you want.
We also have a designated Quiet Room on Level 1, a room with low level lighting, weighted blankets and reduced noise and stimulation.
Personal assistants and carers
If somebody in your party requires a carer, personal assistant, support worker, or if you are entering as a foster parent then you can book a personal assistant ticket.
These are free and can be added on to any booking that contains an open concession ticket. This is valid for both day tickets and Planetarium.
